I’ve been listening to Coconut Records a lot this morning. You may think I only like them because they are Jason Schwartzman’s band, and you’d be right.*
My top 3 tracks are:
Microphone – Because this wouldn’t sound out of place in a Wes Anderson film & he knows it!
The Summer – Not to be confused with the rather boring ‘Summer Day’ from the first album
It’s Not You, It’s Me – This one gets lodged in my head a lot.
*Because even though I like it on its own merit, I wouldn’t have heard it if not for him. And if I had to make a criticism it would be that it sounds a bit too much like The Shins… Who I also like.

Fucking Hell America, can you just make Hulu available outside the US?
God knows you can’t gather ratings based on people watching live broadcasts these days anyway. Most people download or stream their favourite shows because its more convenient, and it isn’t regionally (or continentally) contained.
Theres no point holding back so that you can sell tv shows to other countries, because the people who want to see a show before its broadcast in their neck of the woods will always see it anyway. You’ll still be able to sell your wares on to the undeserving masses, don’t worry.
So unregionalise Hulu please. I would like to watch Dollhouse tonight with all the fat yanks. Don’t make me be a pirate.

I have changed my mind drastically since last night. My favourite song from Dr Horrible is actually Perfect Story.
If only for the lyrics:

Dr Horrible himself satisfies my craving for the gorgeous, dorky Joss Whedon stereotype (just face it, Xander - Buffy, Wash - Firefly & Topher- Dollhouse, might as well be the same character) so it doesn’t bother me too much that Nathan Fillion got buff for Captain Hammer… but do the big arms gross anyone else out?
