• The new Jealous Sound album, is amazing, superb, majestic. I don’t think there is an appropriate descriptor for it. It will successfully remind one of overwhelming emotional issues and heartaches from their past that they still have crying wanks over - In a good way. I’m pretty sure this is the only way to describe exceptionally good emo.
• Into It. Over It are coming back in the UK in MAY! I’m going to be forced to give Evan Weiss an existential blow job made of praise and respect. My friend made the nostradamus-like prediction that this dude is the future of punk & emo and I’d be willing to concede that it might well be true
• The discovery of Mixtapes, a super cute new band who I imagine may bridge the gap between my own pop punk sensibilities and those of my chums who are more into indie pop.

• I can’t really say reading Gentleman Jim by Raymond Briggs inspired much more than an emotional breakdown, but I definitely need to read more Raymond Briggs now.
• Somehow it flew under my radar, and presumably a lot of other peoples, that Jeffrey Brown is making a movie? And it will star the breasts of Alison Brie & Lizzy Caplan (well, their voices anyway). Jolly good news folks!
• Teenage hip web superstar Tavi Gevinson gave this super interview to the BBC. Say what you will about the execution, but hearing these words come out of a 15 years old’s mouth is excruciatingly exciting:

“They would talk about how inappropriate it was for someone my age to be at fashion week, but this is coming from an industry that fetishises youth.” 

• Paying For It was definitely one of the most thought provoking books I read last year and this Chester Brown Interview where he talks about some of the ways his own thoughts have been challenged and provoked since it’s release was certainly a wonderful way to pass the time!
